Places of interest
The town and municipal area of Roquetes forms part of the Els Ports Natural Park, and includes the highest point in the region, the peak of Mount Caro at an altitude of 1441 metres above sea level.
Historic sites of interest in the town include majestic homes built by important local families: Torre d’en Gil, Casa Traval, Torre de la Vall del Marquès, and l’Hort de Cruells.
Ebro Observatory A pioneering scientific institution, founded by the Society of Jesus religious order in 1904 to study physical phenomena and Sun-Earth relationships.

Route to the peak of Mount Caro at 1441 m
GR-7 path: Explore the eastern side of the Els Ports mountains following a stretch of the GR-7 long-distance path.
Cova Avellanes route: The picnic area at the Avellanes Cave in the middle of the Natural Park is the starting point for a range of easy walking routes.
Mountain bike ravine trail: Explore the Els Ports mountains through the Caramella and Covalta ravines before descending down the left bank of the Sant Antoni ravine as far as the rice fields on the low-lying lands between the sea and the mountains.
Mountain bike route among traditional landscapes. Discover wonderful landscapes and old stone buildings among the olive groves under the watchful eye of the Els Ports mountains. A circular route starting out at the crossing between Camí de Colomar and Camí Racó d’Omedo roads.
Dry stone route. On foot or by bike, a route through the local countryside discovering many traditional dry stone constructions – walls, farm buildings, shelters and other constructions for collecting rainwater.
