><p><strong>El Toscar: <\/strong>Four kilometres from the town, El Toscar is a unique nature area within the Els Ports Natural Park well-known for its exuberant countryside, natural water springs, and fields of cattle. Three chapels are also located in the area: Santa Ll\u00facia, Sant Juli\u00e0 (the old thirteenth-century church of the now-disappeared village of Carles) with a picnic area, and the eighteenth-century chapel of Santa Magdalena. Ruins of Carles and its castle can be found beside the Sant Juli\u00e0 chapel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Springs: <\/strong>Many natural sources of water found in the area include the Ullal, Toscar, Ferro, Nova, and Vella springs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aiguanatura.com\/aiguanatura\/es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trout fishing in the mountains<\/a>:<\/strong> Trout fishing for recreational and educational purposes (fish are returned to the water) in a series of semi-natural pools originally constructed for fish farming among the spectacular landscapes of Els Ports mountains.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sant Agust\u00ed church: <\/strong>Built between 1776 and 1790 partly using an older construction, the Saint Augustine church is made up of three naves with a bell-tower built in an old defence tower.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/parcsnaturals.gencat.cat\/ca\/xarxa-de-parcs\/ports\/gaudeix-del-parc\/equipaments-i-itineraris\/equipaments\/alberg-alfara\/index.html\" streets. Visit the Sant Agust\u00ed church, the old public clothes-washing area, and admire the mountainous landscapes from the view point.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Route around the Toscar chapels: <\/strong>This walk takes you past the three chapels, the ruins of old disused glass and paper factories, cattle farms, the ruins of Carles castle and many of the natural springs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Panxampla route: <\/strong>A guided tour around sites connected to the life of Joan Pujol, an outlaw who went under the name of Panxampla and was born in Alfara in 1857. Known as the local Robin Hood, legend says that all he needed with him was a blanket to sleep outdoors, a gun and a dagger.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/turismebaixebre.cat\/en\/nature-trail-the-val-de-zafan-green-way\/\"><strong>Nature Trail &#8211; The Val de Zafan Green Way<\/strong>.<\/a> The Green Way cycling track can be joined
